ITEM 600 "The Radio Shelf..."

Friday, August 5, 2016

Welcome to the Radio Shelf. Over the years we have collected hundreds of original factory radios. we sold quite a few of them in the early days before we got involved in the alternators and the Great Race teams. Over time we had less and less time to devote to them so we simply quit advertising them. We have some classics including one for an early 1940's Pontiac a 1962 Chevy, one of the early Motorola for a 1937 Chevy that was cable operated from the dial and knobs in the dash. There is even a Silvertone aftermarket radio from JC Whitney and Co. All of these radio are original and some include the remote speakers as per factory. These all came out of a salvage yard in the 1970's. They used to pull all of the working radios out of the cars before they were crushed and put them on a shelf in a little wooden building next to the office. Only the people they liked and the good customers got to tour that shed and have the chance to buy a radio. We didn't count them all but there is at least 40 radios at best guess and nothing is newer than 1962 with most born in the 1940's and 1950's.

We are looking to sell the whole lot...all forty plus radios, with remote speakers and the works, everything included for the sum of $100.00 FOB Clay Center Kansas 67432. In case you are a little slow with math that amounts to about two dollars and fifty cents a radio. This is a money making opportunity for some honest soul who has the time to advertise and sell them. You wouldn't have to sell very many to get your money back. No we do not have a list of the radios we have on the shelf but at that price you can afford to make your own.
